New York City (Part 1)

Alright, first city to talk about, New York City. There sure are many places to go around New York City, so it will be a long one, as I mentioned before in the previous post. :>

Before I begin, I would like to give a tip on getting ready in New York. First, please be careful when traveling around there as… Things may be missing before you know it. (Yes, it can always happen if someone is not careful enough) Secondly, if anyone will be traveling around here during summer, its possible that an umbrella or raincoat as there are possibilities that it will rain, or so as what I experienced.

Okay, end of my blabbering for the tips.

Times Square

M&M's World

Times Square

Well, its literally ‘TV, TV Everywhere” in this place as this intersection is filled with the lights of the advertisements and Broadway Theater advertisements, with the most famous one as the Coca-Cola advertisement. In addition, there are many shops in this place, such as M&M’s World and Disney Store, which makes more reason why people would visit this place. My personal opinion is that this is quite close to Broadway Street, Fifth Avenue, and a bit further away to Madison Square, in which is the reason why this place is crowded.

Times Square is much crowded during New Year’s since there is a countdown, so be prepared for this for anyone coming around during this time of the year!

Broadway

A broadway theater showing screens of musicals
Hmm, there are two Broadway that I know, which are Broadway Theaters and Broadway Street. First one to go: Broadway Theaters. The theaters are close from the Times Square since across the Coca-Cola ad, there is a Broadway theater featuring musicals. Apparently, its for the whole street, as the nearest intersection has another Broadway theater featuring Mamma Mia!.

Next one is Broadway Street. This street is filled with branded shops, though in my opinion, not as ‘elite’ as Fifth Avenue. I did not manage to get a picture of it though – we only passed through this street. Going straight, the next thing to see is the Columbus Circle.

Columbus Circle

Columbus Circle - Christopher Columbus in the middle, and
the entrance to Central Park slightly sighted, covered with trees

Columbus Circle, the traffic circle that was named after Christopher Columbus. (Hmm, isn’t that fact obvious…) It sure is crowded, since around this circle is Trump International Hotel and Tower, Time Warner Center, and the entrance to Central Park. Right in the middle of the circle, there is the statue of Christopher Columbus.

Central Park

Part of Central Park
Here it is, the most visited park in the United States, which can be visited from Columbus Circle – Central Park. Ah, and this is also the place to shoot Home Alone 2. What can I say… The park is filled with trees and small hills that it just feels perfect for recreations, such as joggings or biking or even reading a book. Oh, and its huge. Again, too bad that I only passed through this place – its gorgeous.

[Inner voice: I actually wished to go inside the park just to relax myself. ;-;]

The Plaza Hotel

The Plaza Hotel
Across Central Park is another place that Home Alone 2 was shot. Yup, it’s where Kevin stayed – The Plaza Hotel. Looking from the entrance has the vibe that it's a luxurious one. However, for the exterior… It was currently renovated so it is not all that attractive… :/

[Inner voice: …Why should it be renovated now… ;A;]

Fifth Avenue

Rolex and Lindt in Fifth Avenue
The famous Fifth Avenue for the elite street, or so I call it. This street is filled with branded shops, such as Rolex, Louis Vuitton, GAP, Tommy Hilfiger, Fendi, Uniqlo, and other more. There is also Trump Tower here. Other than that, I have no more explanation about this avenue. Nearby here is Rockefeller Center, so next will be it~ :3

Rockefeller Center

Umm, its not like I went through the whole complex… Just the plaza, where during summer, it's a place where many people hangout as there are cafes (apparently) and during winter where also many people come for ice-skating. It is also noticeable that there are many flags around here, and yes they make beautiful decorations. : >

Rockefeller Plaza
At the wall of the plaza, there is the Prometheus Statue, a symbol of the Rockefeller center.

Statue of Atlas
While walking around Rockefeller Center, it is also noticeable that there is a statue called Atlas. In my opinion, it looks like he is carrying… The world? In any case, I did not really get information on this, so I am sorry for any mistakes on my interpretation. ^^;

That’s the end of part 1! I’ll continue part 2 soon! :>
